It is sometimes necessary refer young people on to more specialist services. This is usually the outcome of a joint decision by a worker and by the young person that a referral to another agency will best help them to progress towards his or her goal.
Young people are not always aware of the services available to them, or are unclear about how to access them. Very often we are the first port of call whenever a young person finds themselves in difficulty. Workers are well placed to work with young people to identify any specific needs and have excellent links with a range of services from which to signpost young people.
