Empowering Young People

Information & Signposting Drop in

Although this area of work is not as high profile as other areas of the project’s work it continues to be an essential element. The young people on the estate are familiar with the project’s open door policy and are aware of the wide range of issues for which we can offer support. Workers are often the first point of contact for young people in need of advice and information. Some of the issues we have worked on with individuals have included:

 

· Referring young people to specialist agencies to access guidance on issues ranging from childcare, welfare rights, housing etc.

· Attending police station with young person

· Gender identity and relations

· Offering young people the space to discuss problems

· Providing young people with relevant and up to date information on a wide range of issues.
